I will create a designer typeface and custom hand-lettered wordmark

About this gig

I will create a designer typeface and a custom hand-lettered wordmark, drawing every glyph and curve by hand so your brand owns a one-of-a-kind letterform nobody else can license or copy.

What you get

This is a hands-on lettering and type design service. I work directly with you, from rough pencil to final vector, to produce original letterforms tuned to your name, brand voice, and the places the mark needs to live. Depending on the plan you pick, deliverables include:

  • A custom hand-lettered wordmark — your brand or product name drawn as a single, cohesive piece of art, not typed in an existing font.
  • An original designer typeface — a working font drawn from scratch (uppercase, lowercase, numerals, and core punctuation in the scope you choose), delivered as installable font files.
  • Hand-drawn construction: every letter starts as a real pencil or stylus sketch, then is refined, digitized, and corrected curve by curve.
  • Vector master files of the wordmark in AI, EPS, SVG, and PDF — fully scalable, print-ready, and editable.
  • Font files in OTF and TTF for the typeface tier, ready to install on Mac and Windows and embed in design tools.
  • High-resolution PNG exports (transparent background) of the wordmark for quick web and social use.
  • Color and one-color (black/white) versions so the mark holds up on dark, light, and single-ink applications.
  • A kerning / spacing pass so the wordmark reads cleanly at large and small sizes.
  • Source layout notes so your team knows the safe area, minimum size, and clear space around the mark.

Everything is original artwork made for your project. No stock fonts dressed up as custom work, no AI-generated glyphs traced into a file.

Pick Basic if you only need a single, beautifully drawn wordmark. Choose Standard when you want a matching display font to go with it. Go Premium when you need a complete, multi-weight letter system you can build a whole brand around.

How it works

  1. Brief & discovery. You send me your name/wordmark text, the feeling you're after (elegant, bold, retro, editorial, playful, luxury, etc.), reference marks you admire, and where the mark will be used. The more context, the sharper the result.
  2. Sketch phase. I hand-draw multiple letterform directions in pencil or on a tablet. You see real sketches, not polished mockups, so we lock the right direction early.
  3. Direction lock. You choose the sketch (or hybrid of sketches) that feels right, and I confirm scope, character set, and weights.
  4. Digitizing. I redraw the chosen direction as clean vector curves, refining every junction, terminal, and counter for balance and consistency.
  5. Spacing & revisions. I kern the wordmark, build out the typeface glyphs (if in scope), and run your revision rounds on real, on-brand artwork.
  6. Final handoff. You receive the full file package in the formats listed for your plan, plus usage notes so the mark is deployed correctly from day one.

Why choose this

A wordmark or typeface is the one asset your audience sees more than any other, so it should be drawn, not borrowed. Because each glyph here is constructed by hand, you get spacing, rhythm, and personality that an off-the-shelf font simply can't deliver — and you own a mark that is genuinely yours. I treat type as craft: consistent stroke logic, optical corrections that machines miss, and terminals tuned so the name reads as cleanly on a phone screen as it does on a storefront. You also get an honest, collaborative process. You see the work at the sketch stage, so there are no surprises at delivery, and the revision rounds exist to refine the chosen direction rather than start over from zero.

Who it's for / use cases

This service fits founders and teams who need a distinctive verbal identity rendered as art:

  • Brand and logo wordmarks for startups, agencies, studios, and personal brands.
  • Display typefaces for fashion, beauty, hospitality, and lifestyle labels that want a signature look.
  • Packaging and label lettering where the name must carry the whole front panel.
  • Editorial and magazine mastheads, titles, and section headers.
  • Music, film, and event branding — album covers, tour art, festival logos.
  • Apparel and merch graphics built around custom letterforms.
  • Restaurant, café, and bar signage that needs a hand-drawn, crafted feel.

If your name deserves more than a typed-out font, this is built for you.

FAQ

Q: Is this a real custom font or just a drawn logo? Both are on offer. Basic delivers a hand-lettered wordmark (a single drawn piece). Standard and Premium add an actual working typeface in OTF/TTF that you can type with in any app.

Q: Do I own the artwork and rights? Yes. All plans include commercial usage rights to the final delivered mark and font for your brand.

Q: What character set does the typeface include? Standard covers uppercase letters and numerals. Premium covers uppercase and lowercase, numerals, and core punctuation. Need a special character or symbol? Tell me in the brief and I'll confirm scope.

Q: Can you match a specific style or mood? Absolutely. Send references and adjectives (luxury serif, geometric, brush script, vintage, condensed, etc.) and I'll draw toward that feeling in the sketch phase.

Q: How many revisions do I get? Two rounds on Basic, three on Standard, and unlimited rounds within the agreed scope on Premium. Revisions refine the chosen direction; a brand-new concept from scratch is a separate scope.

Q: What files will I receive? Vector wordmark files (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF) and transparent PNGs on every plan. Standard and Premium also include installable OTF/TTF font files and handoff notes.

Q: Will the mark work in one color and small sizes? Yes. I deliver color and one-color (black/white) versions and run a spacing pass so the lettering stays legible from favicon size up to signage.

Q: What do you need from me to start? Your exact wordmark text, the mood and references you like, where the mark will be used, and any character-set or weight requirements. With that in hand, I begin sketching.

The custom wordmark for my bakery is gorgeous, every letter flows into the next exactly how I pictured it. Couldn't be happier with the hand-lettered logo.

Asked for a bespoke script wordmark and the curves are just chef's kiss. Exactly the artisanal vibe I wanted for the brand.

Really nice hand-lettered wordmark, took one revision to nail the spacing but the final version looks clean and professional.

The wordmark itself turned out lovely, though a couple of the lowercase letters in the typeface felt a bit inconsistent to me. Still a solid result overall.

Good work on both the typeface and the logo lettering. Communication was a little slow but the final files were clean and well made.

Honestly blew me away. The hand-drawn wordmark has this organic feel that no generic font could ever match.
