I will automate ecommerce order and review workflows with AI across Shopify

About this gig

I automate the repetitive order-processing and review-management work in your Shopify store using AI, so your team stops copy-pasting and starts shipping.

What you get

  • A working set of automations wired into your live Shopify store that handle order and review workflows end to end, not a slide deck of ideas.
  • Order workflow automation: AI-assisted triage of incoming orders (flagging high-risk, fraud-suspect, oversized, or split-shipment orders), automatic tagging, customer order-confirmation and shipping-update messages drafted in your brand voice, and routing of exceptions (address errors, out-of-stock lines, pre-orders) to the right place instead of getting lost.
  • Review workflow automation: automated post-delivery review requests timed to actual fulfillment events, AI-drafted replies to incoming product reviews (approve-before-send by default), sentiment classification so 1-2 star reviews get escalated to a human fast, and structured summaries of recurring complaints per product.
  • AI classification layer: a configured model that reads order notes, customer messages, and review text to decide tags, priority, and next action, with prompts tuned to your catalog and tone, not generic boilerplate.
  • Connections to the tools you already use: Shopify Admin (orders, fulfillments, tags, metafields), your review app (Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo, Shopify Product Reviews, or similar), and your inbox/Slack/help desk for notifications and approvals.
  • Guardrails: human-approval gates on anything customer-facing by default, rate limits, retry-on-failure handling, and logging so you can see exactly what every automation did and why.
  • A short Loom walkthrough plus a written runbook covering how each automation works, how to pause or change it, and what to check if something looks off.
  • A test run on real or sandbox data before anything touches a live customer.

How it works

  1. Discovery call and audit. We get on a short call (or async if you prefer). I look at your store, your order volume and edge cases, your current review setup, and where time is actually being lost. You tell me your brand voice and any hard rules.
  2. Scope and map. I write up the exact workflows to be automated, the trigger for each, the AI decision points, and the human-approval gates. You approve this before I build anything, so there are no surprises.
  3. Access and setup. You grant scoped access (a collaborator account or limited API keys is fine, and recommended) to Shopify and your review app. I never need your password.
  4. Build and tune. I build the automations, write and tune the AI prompts against your real order notes and review samples, and wire in notifications and logging.
  5. Test on safe data. Everything runs first against sandbox or test orders so we can confirm tags, drafts, routing, and tone are correct before a single customer sees output.
  6. Pilot and go live. We turn it on in a controlled way, watch the first batch together, and adjust. Customer-facing actions stay in approve-before-send mode until you trust them.
  7. Handover. You get the walkthrough video, the runbook, and a support window to catch anything that comes up once real volume hits.

Why choose this

I build for the messy reality of a real store, not a clean demo. Orders arrive with weird addresses, reviews contain typos and sarcasm, and customers expect replies that sound human. The automations I deliver assume that and degrade gracefully: when the AI is unsure, it escalates to a person instead of guessing and embarrassing your brand. Everything customer-facing defaults to human approval, every action is logged, and you keep full control and ownership of the setup after handover. You are not locked into me to make a small change later, because the runbook explains how it all works.

Who it's for / use cases

  • Shopify and Shopify Plus merchants whose order volume has outgrown manual processing.
  • Stores drowning in support time spent tagging orders, chasing addresses, and answering the same questions.
  • Brands that want more reviews and faster, on-brand replies without hiring a full-time community manager.
  • Operators who want 1-2 star reviews and complaints surfaced immediately instead of discovered weeks later.
  • Agencies and store managers who need a reliable automation layer they can hand to a non-technical team.

FAQ

Q: Will this send messages to my customers automatically without me checking? No, not unless you explicitly ask for it. Everything customer-facing ships with a human-approval gate by default. You can later choose to fully automate flows you trust, but that is your call, not a hidden default.

Q: Which review apps do you support? The common ones: Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo, Stamped, and the native Shopify product reviews, among others. If you use something else, tell me on the discovery call and I will confirm whether its API or integration supports what you need before we start.

Q: Do I need to give you my admin password? No. Scoped access through a Shopify collaborator account or limited API credentials is enough, and it is what I recommend. You can revoke access at any time.

Q: What AI model do you use? I use current, reliable language models suited to classification and drafting, and I tune the prompts to your catalog and voice. The choice depends on your needs around cost, latency, and data handling, which we cover during scoping.

Q: Will the AI write reviews or fake testimonials? No. I do not create fake reviews. These automations request genuine reviews from real customers and help you respond to them. Fabricating reviews violates platform policies and I will not build it.

Q: What happens if an automation fails or the AI gets something wrong? Failures are caught with retry logic and logged, and anything the AI is unsure about is routed to a human instead of acted on blindly. The runbook tells you how to pause any flow instantly.

Q: Can you handle high order volume? Yes. The automations are built with rate limits and queueing in mind so they hold up under real traffic. For very high volume, the Premium staged rollout is the safest path.

Q: What do you need from me to start? A short discovery call, scoped access to your store and review app, a few samples of your current orders and reviews, and a sense of your brand voice and any hard rules. That is enough for me to scope and map the build.

Good job automating both our order handling and review replies on Shopify, just needed a couple of tweaks to get the AI responses sounding like our brand but solid once dialed in.

He built the AI order workflow on my Shopify store so incoming orders get tagged and routed automatically, and it's been running flawlessly since handoff. Massive time saver for my small team.

The review automation he set up collects post-purchase reviews and drafts AI responses in our tone exactly like we talked through. Quick, clear communication the whole way.
