I will design a bestselling book and ebook cover for your novel

About this gig

I will design a bestselling book and ebook cover for your novel — a custom, market-ready front cover plus a print-ready full wrap, built to sell in your genre and stop the scroll.

A great cover is the single hardest-working piece of marketing your novel will ever have. Readers decide in under a second whether to look closer, and that decision happens on a thumbnail the size of a postage stamp. I design covers that survive that test: bold at thumbnail size, genre-fluent, typographically clean, and engineered to compete directly with the traditionally published titles already sitting on your category's bestseller charts.

What you get

  • A fully custom front cover designed specifically for your novel, your genre, and your title — not a recycled template.
  • An ebook cover sized correctly for Kindle, Apple Books, Kobo, and other major retailers (high-resolution, RGB, optimized to look sharp at thumbnail and full size).
  • A print-ready full wrap (front cover, spine, and back cover as a single layout) when you choose a tier that includes paperback — built to your page count and trim size, with correct bleed and safe margins.
  • Professional title and author typography: carefully chosen and paired fonts, kerned and laid out for maximum legibility and genre signaling.
  • A back-cover layout with your blurb, author bio, and space reserved for the retailer-generated barcode (print tiers).
  • A spine with title, author name, and optional logo or imprint mark, calculated to your exact page count and paper stock.
  • Source-quality exports in the formats you actually need: a flattened high-res JPG/PNG for ebook upload and a print-ready PDF for paperback (where included).
  • A 3D mockup render of your finished cover (flat and/or angled book image) you can use for promotion, your website, and social posts.
  • Clear, honest licensing: the finished cover is yours to use commercially for your book across all retailers and marketing.

Tier names describe scope only. Choose Basic if you only need an ebook; Standard if you're going wide on ebook plus paperback; Premium if you want the full package across ebook, paperback, hardcover, and audiobook.

How it works

  1. You share your brief. You send me your title, author name, genre and sub-genre, a short synopsis or the blurb, any comparable titles ("comps") whose covers you admire, and any must-have or must-avoid elements (a specific object, mood, color, character detail).
  2. I research your shelf. I study the current bestsellers in your exact category so your cover reads as professional and genre-appropriate, then plan the composition, type, and palette around that.
  3. I design the initial concept(s). I deliver your front-cover concept (or multiple directions, depending on tier) as a clear preview for review.
  4. You give feedback. You tell me what's working and what isn't, and I refine — adjusting imagery, type, color, and layout through the revision rounds your tier includes.
  5. I build out the full wrap. Once the front cover is approved, I extend the design into the spine and back cover (print tiers), sized precisely to your final page count and trim.
  6. I deliver final files. You receive your ebook file, your print-ready PDF where applicable, and your promo mockups, ready to upload.

Why choose this

I design for the marketplace, not for an art portfolio. Every choice — the cropped figure, the title weight, the negative space, the color contrast — is made to earn a click on a crowded retailer page. I treat your cover as a commercial asset with a job to do, and I sweat the unglamorous technical details that get self-published books rejected: correct bleed, correct spine width, correct resolution, correct color space, and a barcode-safe back cover. You get a designer who understands both the craft of typography and the mechanics of getting a file accepted by every major store on the first try.

Who it's for / use cases

  • Indie and self-published novelists launching on Kindle, KDP print, IngramSpark, or going wide.
  • Authors re-covering a backlist title that isn't selling and needs a fresh, competitive look.
  • Small presses and imprints needing a consistent, professional cover for a new release.
  • Series authors who want a strong first cover that establishes a look the rest of the series can follow.
  • Hybrid and debut authors who want their first book to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with traditionally published competition.
  • Fiction across genres — romance, fantasy, sci-fi, thriller, mystery, literary, YA, horror, and more.

FAQ

Q: Do I get both the ebook and the print cover? The ebook front cover is included in every tier. The print-ready full wrap (front, spine, and back) is included in the Standard and Premium tiers. If you only need a digital cover right now, Basic covers you, and you can add print later.

Q: I don't have my final page count yet — is that a problem? Not for the ebook cover. For the print wrap I need your final page count, trim size, and paper type to calculate the spine width correctly, so I'll build the wrap once those are locked. If they change later, I can adjust the spine.

Q: Can you match the style of a specific bestseller I love? I can design in the same genre conventions and mood as covers you admire, which is exactly the goal — looking like you belong on that shelf. I won't copy another cover outright, since that's both a legal and a quality risk, but I'll capture what makes it work.

Q: Where do the images come from? I use properly licensed stock and design assets, and I composite, paint, and retouch them into an original cover. The license you receive covers commercial use of the finished cover for your book. If you have your own commissioned artwork or photography, I can build the cover around it.

Q: How many revisions do I get? Each tier includes a set number of revision rounds, with more available on the higher tiers. I'll always tell you up front where we stand so there are no surprises, and most projects land within the included rounds because of the upfront brief and research.

Q: What files will I receive? A high-resolution flattened image (JPG/PNG) for ebook retailers, and a print-ready PDF with correct bleed for paperback (print tiers). The Premium tier also includes layered/source files on request, plus the hardcover and audiobook variants.

Q: Can you also do the spine and back-cover text layout? Yes — on print tiers I lay out your back-cover blurb, author bio, and spine text, and I leave a correctly sized, clear space for the retailer-generated barcode so nothing gets covered.

Q: I'm writing a series. Can future covers match this one? Absolutely. I design the first cover with the series in mind so the type treatment, layout, and branding can carry across every future book for a consistent, recognizable look.

The cover absolutely pops, the typography for the title looks like something off a real bookstore shelf, and I got both the print version and the ebook file ready to upload. Couldn't be happier.

Solid work on my fantasy novel's cover and the matching ebook thumbnail looked great even at small sizes. Took a couple of rounds to get the mood right, but the final result was worth it.
