I will format and typeset your manuscript for Kindle and print paperback
About this gig
I will format and typeset your finished manuscript into clean, professional files ready for Kindle (KDP) and print-on-demand paperback, so your book looks like it came from a publisher.
What you get
You hand me a manuscript and you get back upload-ready interior files for both digital and print, built to the technical specifications the major self-publishing platforms actually enforce. No guesswork, no rejected files, no "why does my chapter break in the middle of a page" surprises.
Concretely, the delivery includes:
- A reflowable EPUB for Kindle and other ebook stores, with a working linked table of contents, proper chapter breaks, and metadata fields populated (title, author, language).
- A print-ready interior PDF for paperback, sized to your chosen trim (5x8, 5.25x8, 5.5x8.5, 6x9, or another standard size), with correct margins, gutter, mirrored inside/outside margins, and embedded fonts.
- Consistent typography throughout: a readable body typeface, balanced line spacing and paragraph indents, proper first-line vs. block paragraph styling, and uniform chapter openers.
- Front and back matter assembled in the right order: half-title, title page, copyright page, dedication, table of contents, and any acknowledgments, about-the-author, or also-by pages you provide.
- Running headers and footers for print (author name and book title on facing pages) with correct page numbering that starts where it should and excludes the front matter from the visible count.
- Scene breaks, block quotes, and special elements styled so they read clearly instead of looking like accidental gaps.
- Curly "smart" quotes, em dashes, and ellipses applied consistently, plus a cleanup pass for double spaces, stray tabs, and rogue blank lines.
- A short handover note telling you exactly which files go where on KDP and which settings to pick during upload.
I do not write, rewrite, copy-edit, or proofread your text. Formatting is about structure and presentation; your words stay your words.

How it works
- You send your manuscript as a Word document (.docx) or Google Doc, plus any images, your chosen trim size, and a sample book whose look you like (optional but helpful).
- I review and quote scope — I confirm length, image count, special elements (tables, footnotes, poetry, non-Latin scripts) and flag anything that needs a decision before I start.
- I clean and style the text — applying consistent paragraph styles, fixing punctuation and spacing, and structuring the front and back matter.
- I build the print interior — laying out the paperback PDF at your trim size with correct margins, gutter, headers, and page numbering.
- I build the ebook — generating the reflowable EPUB with a linked TOC and embedded metadata, then testing how it flows on different screen sizes.
- I send you proofs — a PDF for print and the EPUB for ebook, so you can read them exactly as a buyer would.
- You request revisions, I apply them within your plan's rounds, and I deliver the final files plus the upload cheat sheet.
Why choose this
Formatting is the step most authors underestimate. A great story in a badly laid-out file looks amateur, and KDP will happily reject a PDF for the wrong margins or a missing embedded font. I handle both the digital and print formats together so they match, and I build to the actual platform specs rather than hoping defaults work.
You get files that pass KDP's previewer, an ebook that reflows cleanly instead of breaking on certain devices, and a paperback whose interior has the quiet, professional rhythm readers expect — balanced margins, sensible chapter openers, and headers that never land on a blank page. I keep communication direct: clear scope up front, honest answers about what formatting can and cannot fix, and revisions handled without drama.
Who it's for / use cases
- Indie novelists publishing fiction on Kindle and KDP paperback who want a clean, classic interior.
- Nonfiction and self-help authors with headings, lists, and the occasional table or figure.
- First-time self-publishers who have a finished draft but have never touched EPUB or print PDF specs.
- Authors re-releasing a backlist title who need consistent formatting across an existing series.
- Coaches, consultants, and creators turning a guide, workbook, or lead-magnet book into a real published product.
- Anyone whose DIY export looked wrong — odd page breaks, tiny margins, a broken table of contents — and wants it done right.
FAQ
Q: What file format should I send my manuscript in? A Word document (.docx) is ideal. A Google Doc works too — just share it or export to .docx. Please make sure the text is final, because formatting locks in the structure of your words.
Q: Do you edit or proofread my writing? No. This service is layout and typesetting only. I will not change wording, fix grammar, or rewrite sentences. If I spot an obvious typo I may flag it, but you should have your text edited before sending it.
Q: Will the files be accepted by Amazon KDP? I build the print PDF and reflowable EPUB to KDP's published specifications, and I check the PDF in their previewer logic for trim, margins, and embedded fonts. You upload through your own KDP account, and I include a note on which settings to choose.
Q: Can you do both ebook and paperback, or just one? Every plan includes both the reflowable EPUB and the print-ready paperback PDF, built to match each other. If you genuinely only need one format, tell me before we start and we can scope accordingly.
Q: What about the cover? This service covers the book interior only — the EPUB cover image and the print interior. I do not design cover art or the full paperback wrap (spine and back). If you have a cover image, I can embed it in the EPUB.
Q: Can you handle images, tables, or footnotes? Yes, within your plan's limits. Images should be sent at print-quality resolution. Tables, footnotes, poetry, and non-Latin scripts are doable but add complexity, so mention them up front so I can scope correctly.
Q: What trim sizes do you support? Common paperback sizes such as 5x8, 5.25x8, 5.5x8.5, and 6x9, plus other standard sizes on request. If you are unsure which to pick, tell me your genre and length and I will recommend one.
Q: What if I find something to change after delivery? Each plan includes a set number of revision rounds for formatting corrections. Send your notes in one batch per round and I will apply them. Changes to the actual text after delivery may count as new work, since they can shift the entire layout.

Got back both files exactly as promised, a clean Kindle version and a print-ready paperback PDF. The chapter headings and page numbers look so professional I almost can't believe it was my own book.

My ugly Word doc turned into a properly formatted manuscript for both ebook and print. The drop caps and consistent spacing make it feel like a real published novel now.

The final paperback file was nicely laid out and passed the printer's check fine. Just wish the turnaround had been a bit quicker, since I had to follow up before getting the files.

The interior layout for the paperback came out gorgeous, with proper margins and gutter spacing that actually fit my trim size. Uploaded it to print with zero errors.

Solid typesetting work and the ebook flowed perfectly across my Kindle and phone. Took a couple of revisions to get the front matter the way I wanted, but the seller was patient about it.
